A.
Terms of reference
1.
Monitor the progress of the Mine of Information project against
a) the milestones laid out in the
Project Plan
b) the deliverables proposed in the
original bid (see below*)
c) financial projections and
workflow reports provided at each meeting by the Project Manager.
2.
Contribute to dissemination and evaluation activities as appropriate.
3.
Ensure that UWS as lead partner discharges its responsibilities
appropriately towards partner institutions, and that partner institutions
fulfil their obligations towards UWS as lead partner (see Letter of Understanding).
4.
Provide arbitration in the event of any dispute between partners in the
project.
5.
Provide a sound academic research base for the project and ensure that
project development is guided by the interests of academic researchers.

bid:

Records as
follows: 1167 EAD collection level descriptions (excludes NLW and PRO); 27,000
EAD file level descriptions; 2,600 EAD item level descriptions; 12,800 MARC
item records
·
Databases of
relevant material, cross-searchable via ENCompass, and available via the UWS
website.
·
Improved
access to the holdings of partner sites relating to the South Wales Coalfield,
and increased use of these by researchers, together with information about
related resources obtained in a wider mapping exercise.
·
Evaluation
of the ENCompass content management system.
·
Project
website for the dissemination of information about the project, display of
sample records, updates on progress, and the opportunity for users to comment
via email.
